It pairs optical energy — absorbed gently at the surface to pre-heat the target tissue — with bipolar radio-frequency that carries controlled heat to the exact depth required.
That heat does the work. In the dermis it triggers new collagen growth and a thickening of the skin's structure, which shows on the surface as firmer, smoother, more even skin.
